Community Visioning Grant
In 2016, University Heights was awarded a Community Visioning Grant from Iowa’s Living Roadway Trust. The community visioning process provided insight into the transportation patterns and needs of residents and resulted in a report that offered ideas for street, sidewalk, and aesthetic improvements.
Participating residents identified improvements to Melrose Avenue — creating a “complete street” entranceway to the community and enabling safe access for pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists along the heavily trafficked arterial — as their top priority.
